Man in the Iron Mask

MF DOOM (aka DOOM, aka Metal Face, aka Viktor Vaughn, aka Zev Love X, aka King Geedorah, aka The Supervillain) dropped his new album - Born Like This a couple weeks back. I picked it up recently and I must say it’s pretty satisfying. DOOM once again comes correct with his raw impeccable flow, unusual style, and dubious yet creative metaphors. The overall production is well rounded. This time around, DOOM brings in Dilla, Madlib, Jake One, and even some of his own work. Raekwon and Ghostface even come in to grace the mic on a couple tracks. I especially love the implied stabs at Lil Weezy’s auto-tune ridiculousness. Love him or hate him, DOOM is in my opinion, one of the best MCs today when it comes to raw talent. I mean who else can rhyme “Ball skin” with “Spalding” ? The album cover looks like it was photoshopped in two minutes though. Go cop.
